This dissertation is mainly about the analysis of the cause of the inconformity of the content of courses and the content of the grammar section of the Oxford textbooks (Shanghai Edition) for junior high school. It mainly begins with the analysis of the content of the grammar section of the Oxford textbooks (Shanghai Edition) for junior high school, and proves the content of the grammar section of the Oxford textbooks (Shanghai Edition) reasonable, and then analyses teachers’cognition of grammar. This dissertation proves teachers’cognition of grammar wrong. The approaches of content analysis and literature research are used to analyze the content of the section of the Oxford textbooks (Shanghai Edition) for junior high school, and the approach of questionnaire survey is used to analyze the teachers’cognition of grammar.This dissertation consists of seven parts:Part one is the introduction. This part foreshadows what comes after, in which the reason for choosing the topic is stated, the significance and purpose of this study is referred to, and the innovation and methods of this study are presented.Part two is the literature review. At first, two research objects-the grammar knowledge presentation and grammar exercises are chosen. Then, much literature according to different dimensions is introduced. Finally, the three-dimensional grammar theory of Larsen Freeman, which this dissertation is relied on is confirmed.Part three is about the brief introduction of Larsen Freeman’s three-dimensional grammar theory. First, Larsen Freeman’s grammar view is introduced. Then, the three-dimensional grammar theory is introduced.Part four is about the analysis of the three-dimensional ideology which exists in the theories that the Oxford textbooks are relied on. This chapter begins with the introduction of the concept of the word-textbook. Then, it analyses the ideology which exists in the theories that the Oxford textbooks are relied on.Part five is about the content analyses of the grammar section of the Oxford English (Shanghai Edition). This chapter is according to the three-dimensional grammar theory to analyze the content of the grammar section of Oxford English (Shanghai Edition) for junior high schools. Through these analyses, this research finds that the content of the grammar section of Oxford English (Shanghai Edition) for junior high schools are related to the three dimensions of the grammar.Part six is about the survey of teachers’concepts of grammar. This chapter begins with the analyses of teacher’s grammar dimension classification of the content of textbooks. Then, it analyses teachers’comprehension of Larsen Freeman’s three dimensional grammar theory.Part seven is about the conclusions and suggestions of this paper. Conclusions are made according to the analysis above and suggestions for the compilation of textbooks, the grammar teaching of teachers and the grammar studying of students are referred to.
