System Innovatio And Application Research Of The Masses Badminton Tournaments

In order to form tournament systems and rules more suitable for the masses badminton tournaments, taking the masses badminton tournaments for the research object, analyzing characteristics and existing problems of recent the mass badminton tournaments, applying expert interviews, focus group discussions and case analyses and other methods, this study develops new tournament systems including points races of Swiss, rushes to sign and doubles unfixed-combination rushes to sign, and then creates personal scoring system combining ratings with accumulating points for the masses badminton competition.The results show that:(1) compared with the professional badminton tournament, organizing the masses badminton tournaments are more complicated than professional tournaments because competition scale and the players’ number of the masses badminton tournaments are controlled more difficultly and amateurs’understanding levels on tournament systems and rules are relatively low.(2)Implementations of the knockout, round robin, traditional scoring rules of the masses tournaments are difficulty to some degree, tournament systems of doubles fixed-combination professional competitions difficultly satisfy the needs to amuse, thus circles of the mass badminton competition look forward to the scientific tournament systems and amateurs’rating systems.(3) The points races of Swiss and rushes to sign can effectively meet demands of the masses badminton competitions and the purpose of many players to keeping fit, entertain, communicate, improve the technological level. At the same time they effectively reduce the workload of the organizers of the competitions, raise the scientification of the competitons layout, and inspire initiatives the players competing.(4) The scoring systems combining ratings with accumulating points established aiming at the characteristics of the. mass badminton tournaments and organization difficulty provided effectively support with competition and communication for the organisers and badminton lovers, and further promote the development of the nationwide fitness campaign. The new tournament systems mentioned above have been applied in 52 different categories of the masses badminton matches, have received general recognition of the organizers and players.Aiming at the applying of new tournament systems, this paper puts forward four Suggestions to provide reference for badminton organizers and participants.
