Research On The Cultivation Of College Students’ Values Under The Influence Of Western Social Thoughts

On January 19, 2015, the general office of the CPC Central Committee and the Council general office pointed out in On further strengthening and improving propaganda and ideological work in colleges and universities under the new situation “resolutely resist the penetration of hostile forces, firmly grasp the ideological and political work of universities in leadership and discourse power, firmly consolidate the guiding position of Marxism”, which is not only an inevitable requirement for us to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation’s dream, also is a great and urgent strategic task that provides important instructions for college and university in response to the spread and penetration of western social thoughts under the new situation.After nearly 40 years of successful practice in reform and opening up, China has made remarkable achievements in economic development, meanwhile, political thought and ideology construction also continuous has progressed and strengthened in the consolidation,and the socialist core values has become the spiritual pillar and action guide for the people of all nationalities. However, in the context of the deepening reform and opening-up policy and the accelerating progress of economic globalization, all kinds of thoughts and culture has exchanged, blended and crossed around the world, and all kinds of values and social thoughts has gotten numerous and complicated. Part of the Western hostile forces intended to take advantage to disturb our mainstream ideology and public opinion, to shake the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field, and to cause the college students who are in the critical period of value formation ideological confusion and behavioral anomie. therefore, the research of Western Social Thought on College Students’ values and the strategy of cultivation possess very important significance in theoretical and practical aspect.This paper was divided into five chapters. In chapter one, the research background,research status, research content and method were introduced briefly. In chapter two, the definition and features of college students’ value and western social thought were mainly expounded. In chapter three, the connotation and development of the new liberalism,individualism, consumerism, and utilitarianism were stated in detail. In chapter four, the performance of college students’ value affected by western social thought was explored through the questionnaire and the reasons were analyzed. In chapter five, the transmission route of western social thought among college students was optimized under the guide of the socialist core value concept, and effective ways and strategies for the cultivation of college students’ values were explored from the three aspects of society, school and individual.
