In the context of consumer society, the body is interpreted in culture or power. French sociologist Baudrillard called the body “the most beautiful consumer goods” in the book “consumer society”. With the change of consumption concept, from the female body consumption to male body consumption, people’s culture consumption has completely changed.In the current consumer society, the male body consumption has become a cultural phenomenon in media carnival. This paper traces the Origin of the cultural symbols’ meanings of body, interpreting the cultural background of body consumption under the context of consumer society.Based on that, the paper focusing on the field of Movie-TV culture in the environment of consumer society, taking the south Korean TV series as the samples, studying on male images of the Korean TV series.From the angle of Communication、Sociology、literature& art and Aesthetic, discussing the popular phenomenon of male body consumption in south Korean TV series.The research contains concepts of consumer society and male body consumption, building the male images in Korean TV series which is catering to consumer society, male images is consumpted as a cultural symbols and youth idols in consumer society and so on.Finally, the paper rethinks the consequences of male body consumption, including physical attraction and broken dreams, the contradiction between commercial culture and art creation, Utilitarian appreciation leads to aesthetic alienation, proposing the evaluation of cultural communication of male images in Korean TV series.
