Table tennis is a fast, strong confrontation, diverse open motor skills sport, which put forward higher requirements on athletes’ cognitive. In table tennis matches, players should make accurate judgments in a very short time with limited information about the ball. When a mistake is made, they should be able to stop or adjust operation in time, which requires athletes to inhibit the original inappropriate batting action, and then make right actions as fast as possible. At this time, control ability plays an important role in the operation of the adjustment process. In order to investigate the characteristics of cognitive inhibition and behavioral inhibition ability between different levels of table tennis players, and the influence on inhibition control from table tennis experience, we set two experiments. We use expert-novice paradigm, set up three groups according to subjects’ table tennis experience including high level group(international or national excellent players), intermediate group(Chinese second degree players) and low-level group(beginning players). We use Flanker task to test subjects’ cognitive inhibit ability, and Go/No-go task behavioral. To explore the influence of behavioral inhibition and its transition effect from table tennis experience, we improved the original experimental paradigm by increasing the reaction distance, so that we can reflect the characteristics of the movement of athletes. The experiment materials include general materials and experience relevant materials. Results:(1) There was no significant difference on simple reaction between the payers from different table tennis levels(p > 0.05).(2) In cognitive inhibition ability, reaction time of interference and noninterference task has no significant difference(p >0.05, p >0.05), the correct rate either(p >0.05, p >0.05).(3) In short distance condition, the reaction time of high-level group was significantly shorter than the mid-level group and the low group in general task(p <0.01, p <0.001), and experience task(p <0.01, p <0.001), but there is no significant difference between mid-level and low-level groups(p = 0.411, p = 0.225). And the error rate of experience task of high-level group is lower than, low group(p <0.05).(4) In long distance condition, the advantage of inhibition ability of high level group has been further extended. In addition, the time of motor inhibition of mid-level group subjects in experience related tasks was significantly shorter than low group players(p<0.001). Conclusions: There was no significant difference in the simple reaction time between different levels of table tennis players; and either in cognitive inhibition ability; the advantages of table tennis players are mainly reflected in the behavioral inhibition ability, the mid-level table tennis players reflect on experience related behavioral inhibition capacities only, but high-level players not only in the table tennis experience related tasks, but also transfer to general tasks.
