Flip The Universe: Shaping The Political Identity Of Farmers In The Land Reform

By reviewing the process of land reform in Shangfu village, Jiangxi Province, this paper uses the method of oral history research, showing the development process of the land reform in the village, in order to fatherly discuss the subversion and reconstruction of farmers’ political identity of the village in the process of land reform. This paper tries to analyze the way and mechanism of farmers’ political identity turnover in land reform and possible subsequent political effects of identity construction from the perspective of farmers. Author organizes the structure of the article mainly from three lines. Firstly, the open line. The process of land reform is from the complaint to class division to property division. Secondly, the main line, namely, the formation process and mechanism of farmers’ political identity construction and identity consciousness, including the germination, formation and strengthening of political identity. Thirdly, the dark line: Political effect of identity construction:From life bitterness to class bitterness, from the world of life society to the class society, from land reform to the formation of campaign-style governance pattern. Through the above description and analysis, the author thinks that complaint is the technical means of farmers’ political identity consciousness germination, the class division is the key stage of the peasant’s political identity which turn from the system design to the real implementation, and the division of property is the material basis for the further strengthening of the political identity of farmers.
