The Research Of Liang Qichao’ Sociology Thought

Based on the facts that Liang Qichao had do many analysis about traditional Chinese society compare to western society, and also the judgment that Kang-Liang’s "Group of Learning" is one of the important representatives of exploring sociology localization, this paper is aim to study on Liang Qichao’s relevant sociological ideology. The purpose of this article is not just to study Liang Qichao’s sociology thoughts in terms of modern sociology language, but also to understand some basic problems in the development of Chinese sociology though this "window", and in response to Fei Xiaotong’s calling of "Cultural Consciousness".To distinguish the concepts between "social thought" and "sociology thought" clearly is the important premise of this study. The topic of this article is to study of Liang qichao’s sociology thought, so it’s directly limit the research framework and research content of this research.To study the sociological thoughts of some scholars, the primary concern is how the scholars understanding the mission of this discipline. As we all know that sociology has been translated into "Group Learning" in the early stage 。 During this period, many reformers, including Liang Qichao, preached "Group" to ensure national political change and political unity. As a result, Liang Qichao treated "Group Learning" as the mission of sociology. As Liang Qichao known more about western sociology, he interpret more basic problems such as the sociological research object, research steps, research scope, method of data collection, social investigation and so on.The relationship between individual and society is the fundamental problem of the sociology, and also one of the classical "Confusion" through the development of western sociology theory. To some degree, the process of sociology’localization has already began at the moment of western sociology was introduced to China, and Liang Qichao’s "Xinmin" thought is one of its representatives. In the effort to "Xinmin", Liang Qichao response the relationship between individual and society when discussing the relationship between "Morality" and "Personal Morals".His analysis of the path, is very different from many other sociologist such as Comte, Durkheim, Weber, Marx.In the early 20th century, Liang Qichao advocated the "New Historiography" strongly, which make a revolutionary challenge to traditional historiography. The research object of traditional historiography mostly limited to "Princes Group", however, he broke through it and down to ordinary people. In order to improve history research, he stressed draw lessons from the research method of anthropology and sociology. This approach virtually led to the fusion of history and sociology. In contemporary, western historical sociology is strongly popular, we not only face the problem of how to introduce it, but also the localization of it. In this situation, Liang Qichao’s "New Historiography" provides us with rich resources.In view of the above several aspects of understanding, this article discusses the status of Liang Qichao in the history of Chinese sociology. By way of literature review, the paper describes different understanding of different scholars. After that, the paper tries to find the answer. In this try, we can know more about Liang Qichao’s sociology thought intuitively and conveniently, as well as grasp the basic problem of sociology.Finally, the article concluded several main characteristics of Liang Qichao’s thought of sociology:Highly attention of the social; Remarkable pragmatism tendency; Rich humanism; Rich spirit of social construction. With respect to its main contribution and deficiency, the article also made a summary.
