Reading is an important part in English learning. But there is a common phenomenon in the English reading, when students reading articles, they often ignore grasp of whole text structure and analysis logical structure between paragraphs, besides there is an issue about learning and mastering a variety of different reading comprehension strategy of solving problems. From the perspective of multimedia, it can be the presentation of the content that leads this result. Mind Map as an organization and presentation tools of knowledge, many studies show that it plays an important role and is applied into the teaching of the junior high school. These studies show the importance of Mind Map, so we choose it to present information, and verify that if it can improve their English reading teaching effectiveness by this way.Given this, this paper applies mind map to present reading strategies in the classroom of junior high school English reading comprehension exercises teaching, comparing with traditional teaching methods-using oral language to present reading strategies.Firstly, this paper analyzes the status of mind map application in the teaching of English reading both at home and abroad, combing the related concept and theoretical basis of reading and mind map, and try applying mind mapping to the junior middle school English reading teaching.Secondly, collecting and designing all kinds of materials required for this experiment, including classification of reading strategies, designing mind map, questionnaire and interview outline, auxiliary exercises. Selecting two indicators to measure- students reading comprehension test scores and using of reading strategies, also collecting and analyzing data, coming to the following conclusions:Using Mind Map in the junior high school English reading teaching can facilitate students to applicate reading strategies and improve reading comprehension test scores, comparing using oral language to present reading strategies. On the premise of using mind maps, application of auxiliary exercises can facilitate students to applicate reading strategies and improve reading comprehension test scores, comparing out of use auxiliary exercises.Lastly, according to the conclusions of this study put forward some suggestions to teacher, and analyzing the disadvantage of this research, including the disadvantage of experiment itself in the process of implementation and verification, especially application of mind map and auxiliary exercises in reading comprehension teaching might bring some other problems. For example, may increase the students’ cognitive load, etc. And thinking about the direction of improvement and trying.
