Symbolic-graphic combination is to make the abstract thinking and image thinking, interaction and graphic nature of the mutual transformation of relations between the number, the number of the abstract relations and intuitive graphical combining research problem of a kind of thought and method, in scientific research, it is universal.On the basis of consulting a large number of literature material, this study summarized the general situation that symbolic-graphic combination is applied to mathematics, physics, biology, geography and language, history. Expounds in detail symbolic-graphic combination embodied in chemistry teaching. Through the way of questionnaire and teacher interview, to probe the knowledge and application situation about the thoughts and methods for symbolic-graphic combination. Survey results show that symbolic-graphic combination is only used in the chemical problem solving; Students’ ability of "The shape to help number" is far better than its ability of "The number to help shape ". In order to give full play to symbolic-graphic combination ideas of education value, This study used a large number of cases to illustrate the description of the chemical teaching strategy under the guidance of symbolic-graphic combination.
