Kei Nishikori, an excellent male representative of tennis in Asia, took the first place for many times in various tennis games. He has won seven single titles since he started his career with the highest ranking world No. 5( by the end of 2014). During the year 2014, under the guidance of Zhang Depei, who was the champion of the last tennis game in France and Grand Slam Tennis Tournaments with the highest ranking world No. 2, Kei Nishikori has made much progress by winning 4 single titles, getting 54 victories and 14 defeats, ranking No. 5 from No.17 at the beginning the year. It is worth mentioning that Kei Nishikori had competitions with ATP top four players including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, and performed very well. Three victories and four defeats is definitely a convincing evidence of his strong sporting boom.Compared with table tennis and badminton, tennis is highly developed with high degree of professionalism and fierce competition, reaching a high level in both athletics and scientific research. Considering that the male tennis is currently dominated by occidentals, few Asian top players can stand out. Therefore, much more attention should be given to Nishikori Kei!s elite performances. By analyzing numerous game videos and statistics, a comparative study on skill and tactic features between Nishikori Kei and ATP top four players reveals the differences of technology and tactics in tennis game between Asian top players and other outstanding male players. A summary of features of men!s singles and its trends brings forward great significance in terms of organizing training and games scientifically as well as improving men!s competitive ability in tennis games so as to further promote the development of tennis game.Under the research methods of documentation, video statistics, mathematical statistics and comparative analysis, this thesis has analyzed the process of serve and catching the tennis, the balanced process, and the application of holistic skills and tactics in Nishikori Kei!s seven competitions. The findings are as follows:Firstly, Nishikori Kei belongs to the base-line player, his ability to getting scores before the tennis passing the net is in the intermediate level and he seldom advances to the net in the middle of competition. However, he not just has the balanced frequency of using the forehand and backhand, does well in running and sending the tennis, but also has the sound tactical ability and the spirit of tenacious struggle.Secondly, Nishikori Kei!s ability to serve the ball is relatively stable, but his disadvantage of his stature and other reasons contribute to some shortcoming. He is not a patch on the world proficient players in some aspects such as less quantity of getting the ACEs, loss of doubles and the rate of success in the first serve and getting scores in the first serve etc.Additionally, Nishikori Kei can get relatively less winners and miss many scores in the initiative serve. Consequently, he needs more times to serve the ball and more offensive rackets in order to get success. The high demand in physical capacity becomes one of the important factors to restrict his improvement of competitive ability. Finally, compared with the world proficient players, Nishikori Kei has no obvious difference as to the ability due to his solid baseline and competitiveness in catching the ball. In the meanwhile, his competitiveness as to the solid baseline and catch the ball is one of the significant skills and tactics when competing with the world proficient players.
