With the rapid development of knowledge-based economy and the process of globalization, people!s way of living and the space of living have been changed obviously. The complex ideas and values have complicated the current situation of morality. Nowadays, people are trapping in the lost of losing humanity and the sense of value. They are confused about how to get rid of the trouble and take the losing sense of value back. This paper appeals to improve the Junior middle school students! ability of moral reasoning constantly.The puberty is very important for Junior middle school students. During this time, students! self-awareness have been enhanced and they desire for independent. Junior middle school students will be able to meet all kinds of values as they enlarge their life circle. But they handle those values prematurely and unstably because of the conflict of the development of morality in that certain stage, which will easily cause bad conduct and loose morals.The new revision of standard of junior middle school in moral character class added some contents in terms of ability and target. The contents are to face the diversity of values and make the right moral judgement and choice. Without students! independent thinking and practice, they won!t acquire how to make the right moral judgement and choice. The acquirement of country and society will be accepted faithfully unless through students! independent thinking and practice. Teachers must lead students! to think over moral problems independently in the process of teaching. However, in the process of students! thinking, they can!t leave moral reasoning behind. They will acquire new moral values and judgement in the process of reasoning. Those new moral values and judgement will help students to make clear of the conflicts of those divers values if they put that in practice. In that way, they will be able to deal with some complex moral problems maturely. Students will internalize good morality into their mind and act out perfectly if they figure out what "should# is and why they should do in the process of moral reasoning.This paper is based on the achievements of moral reasoning from foreign and domestic theories. Given the current situation of moral education in the Junior middle school and though analyzing and summarizing the foreign and domestic theories, this paper tries to find out the answers about how to foster the junior middle students! ability of moral reasoning. The whole passage is made of some chapters as followings:The introduction chapter. This part mainly include the reason of selecting this topic, the research review, the purpose and content of this research and the thoughts and methods of this research.The first chapter is about the summary of moral reasoning. It includes that defining the concept of moral reasoning, explaining the relevant theories of moral reasoning, the detailed ways of classification and the models of moral reasoning.The second chapter will discuss the importance and the urgency of fostering the Junior middle school students! moral reasoning. Firstly, this chapter expounds the significance from the following four aspects: to raise the level of subject! moral cognition, to strength the subject! moral belief, to generate the subject! moral wisdom and to guide the subject! moral behavior. Secondly, based on the students! characteristics of physiological and mental development and their moral development rules, this paper combines the current social moral status and the problems of school moral education to emphasize the urgency of fostering the students! moral reasoning.The third chapter is to understand the status of current Junior middle school about how to foster students! moral reasoning. There exists some problems in the process of teaching.Through analyzing those problems can find out some reasons. On one hand, teachers! teaching philosophy is timeworn and they don!t care the teaching design in daily teaching. Their levels of professionalism are low. On the other hand, the stress of the high school entrance exam is high and the main evaluation standard of teaching is still students! scores`so the school moral education became a mere formality.The fourth chapter is to discuss how to foster the Junior middle school students! moral reasoning in the moral teaching. Firstly, the premise is to change teachers! teaching philosophy. Then give four methods to foster students! moral reasoning. They are persuasion, analyzing the concept of moral, discuss the moral questions in groups, and case study.
