A Study On The Usage Of The Defensive Technique And Tactics Of The 34th European Men’s Basketball Tournament

Objective:Defense is the Chinese Men’s Basketball Team’s blind side. So we hope to make a research to find out the defensive characteristics of the 34th European Men’s Basketball Tournament which can provide some theoretical basis for the 2008 Olympic Games.Methods:The paper make an integrated use of literature,the survey method, video observation,mathematical statistics to study the defensive characteristics of the 34th European Men’s Basketball Tournament.The results and conclusions:When the attack players dribbled to the front court,the type of defense gave priority to pressing.It was obvious that the full-court was plotted out to on side and off side.The defense players try their best to cut off the connection between the attack players.They can use all the methods to connect each other in order to make a good defense when they defend.The main defense lineup is half-court man-for-man defense,match-up zone defense,total pressure defense,zone defense.The defense area is extended in half-court man-for-man defense tactics.When they defend,they can catch the attack players wherever they are.Match-up zone defense make use of both pressing and pincer attack,is a compressive defense method.There are always more than 2 players when they scramble for the rebound,and the players who scramble for the rebound can be anyone.They will lay siege to the players who hold the ball when they lose their rebound.In order to stop the fast break there are more than 2 defense players move back when fast break happens.
