With the development of wireless communication technology, sensor technology,microelectronic technology and embedded technology, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) hasa rapid improvement. As a new kind of information access technology, WSNs is considered tobe one of the most important high technology industries in the future along with the bionichuman organs and plastic electronics. WSNs will have a variety of high value applications inmany areas.The routing protocol is a key technology in WSNs. The traditional routing protocolcannot be applied in WSNs because of the difference of topology. New kinds of routingprotocols must be designed. In these routing protocols, research on LEACH based onclustering structure is very important.This paper firstly introduces the basic concept, research status, application prospects andcharacteristics of the WSNs. Secondly, this paper analyzes several kinds of routing protocolsfor WSNs, then emphatically introduces and analyzes the working mechanism of LEACHprotocol and its advantages and disadvantages.Finally, according to the three main advantages of the LEACH protocol when selectingthe cluster head nodes, this paper puts forward the corresponding improvement scheme. Thenthe simulation experiments are carried out in MATLAB. The experimental results show that,the improved LEACH protocol can improve energy efficiency and network throughputperformance of the network, and the improved LEACH protocol is more suitable forlarge-scale WSNs than the original LEACH protocol. |
