With the development of society and economy, social urbanization process is acceleratingthe improvement of people ’s living standards, the automotive industry has developed rapidlyin recent years, the rapid increase in the use of various vehicles, increased vehicle trafficwhile bringing rapid development of the industry but also to the government and bring a lot ofthorny issues, such as how many vehicles for effective monitoring and management,reasonable vehicle scheduling, monitoring driving safety of the vehicle.In recent years, wireless technology, geographical information technology, GPS matures,they are widely applied to ITS. ITS based on information and communication technology,electronic sensor technology, computer processing technology people, vehicles, road threeclose coordination, and establish harmonious and unified traffic management systems, play around, accurate and efficient monitoring and management. Vehicle monitoring system as anintelligent transportation system is an important component, has important practicalsignificance for its research and development.In this thesis, the research and development of vehicle monitoring system as the maincontent of the vehicle monitoring system key technologies, systems theory, system architecture,system design, system function, system testing and analysis are discussed. The full text of thecurrent status and vehicle monitoring system, starting from the GPS/GIS/GPRS technology,analyzes their principles, characteristics and application of proposed design. The entire systemsolution consists of two parts car terminal and monitoring center. Articles were functional carterminal and monitoring center needs, hardware design, software design, software functions toachieve a detailed description. Finally, the entire system is tested and analyzed. In the courseof research and open system, fully taking into account the nature of the system, reliability, andintegration and maintenance in accordance with the modular design ideas for easy system.System uses GPS vehicle location information collection module, GPRS wirelesstransmission network vehicle information data, GIS software, map data visually displayed onthe monitor terminals, the vehicle location monitoring, vehicle track playback, schedulinginstructions issued under the monitoring center and other functions, complete papers areexpected research goals.
