With the development of science and technology and the continuous improvement ofpeople’s living standard, people have higher requirements in the quality of life, the livingenvironment of the safety and the comfort, so the intelligent household monitoring system isapplication. The video monitoring system plays an important of the intelligent householdmonitoring system, playing the more and more important role in the construction of thehousehold both at home and abroad.The traditional monitoring technology in the home video remote monitoring system hasmany problems such as high cost, power consumption, the not timely monitoring and so on. Anew project is proposed in this paper, based on ARM11remote home video monitoring design.This article uses the C/S structure, taking The embedded microcontroller controller, ARM11S3C6410as the hardware development platform and the embedded Linux as the operatingsystem, applying TCP/IP protocol design and Ethernet communication software to realize thecommunication between servers and clients and transport the signal to clients through internetin order to achieve the purpose of real-time monitoring of the household field environment.This article revolves around puting ARM11development board as hardware platform forembedded Linux system development was discussed and research. Hardware platform isbased on S3C6410processor as the core, extending the USB interface, Ethernet interface,LCD interface, NANDFLASH, SDRAM, carrying ZC301USB camera as image acquisitiondevice.The software platform adopts crossing complie mode, achieving the construct of thesoftware platform by the transplant of Linux operation system.Through taking thetransplanted and improved embedded Boa as an embedded server, which adopt theVideo2Linux interface code to realize the video acquisition and processing of the scene, thencompressing software into mpeg-4format and transfering the video data to the client throughthe TCP/IP protocol.The development of Client software by the Qt on the client side achieved the display, capture, storage and other functions of living in the environment through userinterface., In view of the instability speed of network in the process of video data transmission,the system put forward the adaptive link mechanism, in order to ensure the video which isreceived by clients is clear, and without sudden move.The practical running results show that the system achieve the expected effect,which notonly is stalbe, reliable and good real-time but also has the strong portability and compatibility.The system can combine with other peripherals and apply to the other fields such as themedical treatment, the shopping malls, coal mine, which has a very good market value andapplication prospect.
