The article analyze the current situation at home and abroad of rectennatechnology. With the help of ADS and HFSS, We conduct thorough research rectennatechnology and systems. We design a light weight, small size, high efficiencymicrostrip patch rectenna which works at5.8GHz. In other way, we use the vectornetwork analyzer, antenna turntable to measure and optimizing the rectenna.I mainly done work in four areas.First, to analyze the diode of the rectifier circuit. Including the theoreticalequations derivation of a diode equivalent circuit model, and comparison theefficiency of calculation with that of ADS simulation of diode circuit. Analyze themain factors that affect the efficiency of the diode rectifier, to help to select therectifying diode and optimize the circuit for higher efficiency.Second, the filter design. Using a simple, effective microstrip stepped impedancefilter, reducing energy reflection at microstrip line connections by repeatedlyoptimization, designed a small, good filtering effect input filter. While comparing thevoltage spectrum before and after filtering by output pass-through filter, fundamentaland higher harmonics significantly reduced. Effectively inhibit the waste caused bythe leakage of the harmonic.Third, measurement of input impedance and the efficiency testing of the rectifiercircuit. Since input impedance varies with the input power for the nonlinearcharacteristics of the diode rectifier circuit, designed a test scheme of input impedanceunder a high power. By comparing with the test result of direct measurement undersmall power to verify the correctness of the test scheme. Adopt Smith chart to designa dual minor matching network, which have a good matching of-30dB or less beingachieved when the frequency is5.8GHz. In the simulation of the rectifier circuit afterimpedance matching, when the input power is16.65dBm, the efficiency can reach79%. When the input power is13.05dBm, it can output a voltage of6.11V in themeasurement of rectifier circuit.Fourth, the design of microstrip patch antenna, and6.9dB of the antenna gain canbe achieved tested by a vector network analyzer and antenna turntable. And testedoutput voltage and overall system efficiency.
