As the speeding up of the network bandwidth and the promotion of the computerhardware, the network video conference has been widely used. On one hand, thenetwork video conference has brought a lot of convenience to the life of people. Onthe other hand, it has also been an important way of spreading illegal information.This situation will disturb the social order and do harm to the country security. So ithas been an important and urgent mission to enhance the monitor to the networkvideo conference, and recovering the data stream of network video conference is anfundamental work to control and manage the network video conference.In this paper we mainly have designed and realize an efficient system ofanalyzing and recovering the stream of network video conference. This system canwork on the platform of users or the gateway. We use Ekiga as the test softwarewhich is the most widely used open source network video conference software, andthis system can capture the packets of video conference in the network by means oflistening the network by-path. Then the system will recover the application layerprotocol and translate the media stream into the video or audio file which can beplayed. At the same time of capturing packets, the system can play the video streamof Ekiga synchronously.In this paper we mainly introduce the key technology of recovering the datastream of network video conference in detail, and this include packets acquisition,traffic recognition, data reconstitution, the protocol of application layer recovery,decoding and storing the video and audio data and so on. We also do research on theEkiga which is the open source network video conference software, and we haveanalyzed and recovered the protocol of video and audio transmission—RTP/RTCPwhich is used in Ekiga. We have used3methods in the module of packets acquisition:the Libpcap interface, raw socket and the PF_RING mode. It can be proved throughthe experiment that this system can analyze and recover the data stream of networkvideo conference effectively and correctly.This system has also provide an interface for the contents analysis of video andaudio files, and it is benefit for supervising the network video conference effectively.
