The working environment in Coal mine is very harsh, and coal mine accidents often happened, causing great casualties and property losses. With the enlargement of mining strength in China and the tendency of transfer to the deep mining, roof safety issue becomes increasingly prominent. Currently, roof separation monitoring system is mainly measured by people or cable to monitor the displacement of the roof abscission layer displacement. However, the former one has a larger monitoring error and cann’t monitor real-timely. The latter one is difficult to cable and has higher costs of installation and maintenance. The roof separation automatic monitoring alarm system based on wireless Ad Hoc network adopts433MHZ rf frequency range, through the underground wireless sensor network to realize the displacement wireless acquisition,wireless monitoring and alarm of the roadway roof abscission layer.This system has many advantages, such as low power consumption, low cost, easy maintenance, high reliability and high efficiency.It is a new kind of distributed information acquisition and processing system, and is very suitable for the surrounding rock roof caving early warning surveillance in the environment of coal mine, railway tunnels, subways and so on.The roof separation monitoring system based on wireless Ad Hoc technology is located in the coal mine fully mechanized working face into the return air roadway environment. Thus, wireless signals are vulnerable to all kinds of interference, and the system has a larger number of nodes which are fixed in coal mine roadway fixed roof the coal mine tunnel every50meters with stable topology structure. But the network node is battery-powered. So these nodes are energy-constrained. This would seriously blight the lifetime of network. Therefore, considering network topology and node Energy limited characteristics of the system, this paper propose an energy-efficient and multipath routing protocol based on stable cluster. The protocol which adopts clustering network structure can manage nodes easily, reduce the overhead of routing and network’s computing, and save energy consumption of nodes. This protocol uses energy-saving algorithm to reduce the power consumption of nodes. This is very useful for load balancing, solving the "residual energy bottleneck node" problem in some degree, and it can extend the network life to avoid nodes premature exiting network. This protocol also uses multi-path routing technology to improve the reliability for data transmission and the robustness of the network.In addition,comprehensive considerating energy consumption, path length and energy bottleneck factors through weighted-elect thought, the paper selects the optimal routing and alternate routing. Finally, this paper gives the software design of the proposed protocol based on the IAR development environment and verifies the protocol achieves the desired requirement and conforms to the data communication requirements of roof separation monitoring system.
