| Currently, planetary exploration including Earth has become the focus of the world technology development. And it is very important about how to make exploration more conveniently and more effectively. However, the traditional detection methods require technical supports from a large number of scientific and technical personnel for technical support and expensive hardware auxiliary equipment, which requires a lot of capital investment and a variety of resource consumption. But these vast works and resource-consuming cannot guarantee to effectively implement the detection. Because of above reasons, in this paper we designed and implemented a planetary exploration simulation system based on Quest3d.Planetary exploration simulation system uses virtual reality simulation technology for the development of virtual detection system, which can provide users with convenient and efficient detection of planetary experience, Virtual reality technology offers a new user interface to provide users with visual, auditory, tactile perception, such as real-time interactive tools, provide a convenient means of operation, greatly improving the efficiency of the system. The virtual reality applied to planetary exploration experience, allowing users feel a realistic exposure planetary exploration environment and operate in accordance with vision, hearing and feeling, experience and understanding of the planet in order to achieve the process. Therefore, the development of planetary exploration simulation system has important significance.In this paper, we have developed a planetary exploration simulation software by using virtual reality software Quest3D, researched the methods of constructing models for Quest3D, and analyzed3dsMax modeling and optimization into.X files;ThepowerfulQuest3D light technology has been analyzed and it is combined with mapping technology to create a highly immersive virtual environment. In addition, a variety of system’s user-friendly graphical interfaces have been achieved. The system in this article includes roaming the Earth scene, the camera switching (angle switching), path finding, rain and snow scenes show and Mars probe car or walking, switch background music, navigation settings etc.. The main features of this system are:1) Using Quest3D as a system building platform. Current research on planetary exploration systems are rare, this system can explore the surface in the different planets surface, which can reflect the characteristics of different planets.2) Combined with the specific characteristics of the planet, we have achieved a virtual environment simulation of different scenarios.3) According to the characteristics of Mars, the car has been designed and implemented to detect simulated landing and walking process.In this paper, the designed system is not very perfect, but the research work of this paper can be a solid foundation to further research and development in the future. And we believe that the system will be more perfect with further research work. |
