Design And Implementation Of SMTP-based Mail Protocol Capture System

With the popularity and rapid development of Internet, the E-mail gets muchlove from people as a communication way with the characters of fast transportation,group sending and convenience. The E-mail gives people facility, meanwhile it alsobrings many security incidents such as corporate disclosure, E-crime, computer virus,hacking and so on. In order to reduce the occurrence of these insecurity incidents, agroup of safe rules and regulations is needed.This paper designs and implements the LAN E-mail monitoring system used insmall working groups. The system can monitor real-time e-mail communicationbetween the LAN hosts situation, capture key information messages and notifieslisteners. In order to make it easier for listeners to find the captured messages, thesystem also provides e-mail search function, you can check e-mail messages throughthe critical information.The system is achieved by using network programming technology andWinForm technologies. The authors used the API of web development package toreproduce the SMTP session, parse and extract key information of an E-mail. Datatable is designed to store the message data. And finally the author use WinFormtechnologies to achieve the E-mail queries function.Finally, the authors tested the whole system, proposed the test plan, described thetesting process, and showed the results of the test. Several tests proved that the systemhas a relatively high reliability and universality.
