| With the rapid development of information technology, a lot of applications based on network and integrated circuit have been emerged, in which video conference has been widely used for information transfer, distributed office, etc. To perform videoconference efficiently and conveniently, a variety of system architectures and network video terminals have been proposed, so this topic becomes a new research focus. As a key equipment of videoconference that collects video and voice, the video conference terminal must work rapidly and accurately to send large amount of audio and video information, and the terminal should work interactively also. For an embedded system used for videoconferences, it must be properly designed so as to efficiently utilize chip capacity. This thesis analyzes the composition of current video conference system, investigates the architecture and working principles, and proposes a method to carry out video conference using embedded system. This method uses both RAM and DSP as joint processor, and with proper work allocation to take full advantage of both chips, and several mature techniques can be integrated to optimize the system. H.264compressing algorithm and background-character separation are used in video processing; Linux operating system is used for human-computer interaction (HCI) and system control. This thesis describes the detailed design of the system, and verifies the feasibility of the system. This thesis proposes a video conference terminal system that tightly integrates software and hardware with modular design, and it would be easy to install, maintain, upgrade and extend; meanwhile, the system optimizes video compressing, ensuring real-time conferencing. |
