As the arc welding robot which are used in the domestic industry is importedbasically and expensive with high cost, so it’s imminent to develop arc welding robotwith proprietary in order to promote industrial development of arc welding robot, andreduce costs. Achieving tracking of welding seam is important premise and qualityassurance of the welding automation. The arc welding robot‘s welding seam trackingtechnology and implementation based on arc sensor are studied in the background ofmotion control system’s study in this paper.Aimed at the V-groove weld seam, the swing arc sensor model is analyzed bystudying the principle of arc sensor. Taking the welding current as the sensing inputsignal, the difference and integration method in left and right regions is algorithm toextract the welding torch deviated from weld transverse position. Focuses on theapplication of fuzzy control method in the seam tracking process, and finally establishedthe fuzzy control query table. MATLAB Simulink simulation model is established, thesimulation results show that the system has good robustness and adaptability. The paperproposed an improved fuzzy control method in the basis on conventional fuzzycontroller. Selected LPC3250chip as the system’s micro-controller chip, and designedits peripheral interface circuit. Searching table is attained with LPC3250in the weldingprocess. Although the control accuracy is relatively low, the method response quicklyand cost lowly, and satisfies general control requirements.The common docking and Angle of straight seam welding experiment was carriedout, and the experimental results show that the tracking accuracy reaches±lmm or lessusing the fuzzy control algorithm is designed, meeting the design requirements with lowcost, small size and low power consumption.
