Global satellite navigation system is the newly emerging satellite application system, which uses Global Positioning System technology to position. Global satellite navigation system has many characteristics, such as high-precision global positioning, all-weather running and instant response, which meet people’s needs for the location information. It is being widely used in various fields and industries in the national economy and the social development. To break the monopoly of America and other developed countries in the field of navigation, China has independently developed the Beidou satellite navigation system, which has covered Southeast Asia and played an important role in both the military and civil area in our country. Meanwhile, the wireless communication technology is developing rapidly, and China is about to enter the era of4G. The technology of Long Term Evolution (LTE) has many advantages, such as faster speed, more stable capability and so on. However, with the advent of the Internet of Things, more and more intelligent terminals will be connected into LTE network, and vast data will be transmitted through it. In LTE network, a small quantity of data will put tremendous pressure on the transmission communication network.For most users, it’s convenient to make use of the Beidou navigation receiver for precise positioning. Receiver obtains the position information via acquisition, tracking, synchronization, solver and other steps. This thesis is based on relevant research on Beidou navigation. It introduced the principles of Beidou navigation positioning receiver and completed building both the hardware and software architecture of the receiver. In order to ensure the reliability of positioning accuracy, this thesis optimized it from several aspects:satellite selection algorithm, weighted least-squares method, error correction model.A typical application of the receiver is the combination with terminal equipment, and then realized integrated management of them by location management system. This application will grow rapidly during the era of Internet of Things. This thesis sets the location management system for vehicles as an example and describes in detail of both the design and development in order to complete the depth study and research of application mode of the receiver. The system uses a framework based on MVC, which improves the development efficiency and ensure the stability of the system. It’s a three-tier system for users with different permissions which leads to the different levels of access to the system. It’s mainly composed of five modules, namely information management, information inquiry, track playback, electronic fences and area monitoring. These functional modules are both independent and unified and provide efficient management of vehicle terminal.Beidou navigation receiver designed in this paper will be applied in various kinds of intelligent terminal which will use LTE network to transmit the location information to the server of location management system. It produces a large amount of small data traffic, causing high signaling load, but most of the data is not sensitive to the delay, in order to solve this problem, this thesis puts forward some optimization scheme from the perspective of the wireless access network side. It sets some reasonable classification based on operating system and data service of intelligent terminals. It adopts different configuration information for different small data service, to alleviate the pressure on network.The last part of this thesis reviews and summarizes the research work. Further research directions are discussed.
