Recent years, the development of domestic economy is getting faster and faster, while the water quality is getting worse. With increasing of people’s living standards, people are increasingly concerned about water quality issues. Currently the most common water quality monitoring method in China is manual sampling in the fixed time and location, and then the sample is taken back to laboratory to analysis. This way has poor timeliness, and is out of early warning ability to sudden environmental pollution accident. Facing the more and more serious security situation of water environment currently, some more advanced technology and equipment to strengthen supervision of water environment is needed. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents a real-time monitoring system for water pollution. This system is consisted by the real-time remote monitoring device of water pollution, the GPRS module, the data acquisition and processing module and the monitoring center server. A MSP430F149MCU based data acquisition and processing module and a C#language based monitoring center software was developed in this system. This system realized real-time remote monitoring of water pollution with a lower costs and a higher precision. It can achieve24-hours continuous automatic monitoring and automatically send data to the remote monitoring center server. Data obtained in this system can truly reflect the quality of water and pollution trends, and can be provide to the environmental regulators as a real-time reliable data basis. Experiments show that this system has advantages of low-cost, high accuracy, high reliability and is easy to use. It can meet the needs of real-time monitoring of water pollution, and is of great application values.
