Satellite communication is especially suitable for the remote areas where the ground backbone access network cannot cover due to high cost. Satellite communication is developing rapidly in recent years as the spectrum resources exhausted gradually. In order to further improve the performance of the satellite communication system, flexible load high power and high spectrum efficiency of satellite resource management technology become an important development direction of the satellite communication technology. Based on the study of the existing key technology of satellite communication resources management and cross layer technology, we study the mathematical modeling and construction of the simulation platform to research the optimization of resource management in satellite communication using cross-layer technology. In this paper the main work includes:A novel modified cross-layer DBA utility model based on channel condition and the business priorities is proposed to make up the deficiency that traditional cross-layer model cannot make full use of the channel conditions. A new DBA optimization algorithm with the mechanism of exiting when satiated of users in a cooperative game is designed to solve this model. In this algorithm, the mechanism of exiting is utilized when users is satiated in a cooperative game to gradually get rid of the range constraints, and nonlinear programming and greedy algorithm are combined to solve the integer programming problem rapidly. This algorithm is mathematically verified afterwards. The throughput, utility of the system and fairness based on proposed algorithm used in satellite communication system are simulated, analyzed and compared with that of the traditional cross-layer DBA model and the Max-Min model. Research results show that the proposed model in DVB-RCS satellite system ensures the fairness of users while improving the throughput and utility of satellite communication system at the same time. The proposed algorithm can accelerate the convergence process of the resource allocation and can also be extended to other optimization of nonlinear integer programming procedure. This paper puts forward a new kind of MF-TDMA cross-layer access technology considering the user business types. The technology can ensure the flexibility when multiple users and business access the system, and improve the utilization efficiency of satellite system wireless resources. In the phase of business accessing, the technology can manage the access frequency and time slot position, making a full use of the time-frequency resources. The simulation shows that new access technology can manage the access of user more reasonably according to the business priorities, giving rise to an improvement the utility of the system.Taking the information of MAC layer and link layer in to consideration, we design a kind of cross-layer of flexible payload power control. It can make more effective use of limited payload on resources and provide users with more throughput. A compensation circuit based on the feedback loop is also designed to detect the running state of the TWTA in satellite and to guarantee the amplitude and the phase of carrier wave to be in an ideal state.
