As the main feature of traffic modernization, expressway has become an important infrastructure in our national economic, social development, and people’s life. With the rapid development of technology, the technical architecture of traffic monitoring system also will be change Currently, the Beijing expressway monitoring system has a lot of shortcoming, such as the outdated equipment, the imperfect monitoring system, and the problems left over by history. Weak points do exist in the present system. Weak visibility, poor real-time reflection and traffic network cooperation, as well as the distortion of original data are all led to today’s problems. Current Beijing expressway monitoring system does not meet the demands of today’s traveler.This thesis takes the topic of "Beijing network monitoring electromechanical transformation" as the background. Combining the self-situation of traffic cases in Beijing, the thesis designs the architecture and also implements the function modules of Beijing expressway traffic monitoring system. Firstly, it carried thorough investigation in the current status of the expressway traffic monitoring system domestic and overseas, and then analyzed the current problems in Beijing expressway monitoring system; combining the requirements of Beijing expressway traffic monitoring system construction and transformation, analyzed its key requirements and system design; moreover, dynamic traffic data anomaly identification methods and missing data compensation model are also studied, and the effectiveness is verified theoretically; in the end, according to the requirement analysis and system design, the thesis completed system implementation and system debugging.Through the research and implementation of traffic monitoring system, it can solve the following issues that exist in the original system effectively:(1) Improved the information visibility of information by using the traffic-induced figure.(2) Improved the system real-time capabilities through the development of the event linkage mechanism and the introduction of video calling for site of the incident.(3) Improved the road network integrated scheduling capabilities through the establishment of sub-centers alarm reporting mechanism.(4) Repaired distortion data by proposed the dynamic traffic data anomaly identification methods and missing data compensation models.In summary, through the analysis and research on the traffic monitoring system, better monitoring of the Beijing expressway driving conditions can be implemented effectively. The optimized traffic monitoring system can provide much valuable information for traffic management departments, and also accelerate the development and construction of the metropolitan expressway intelligent transportation system.
