Recently, how to ensure the end-to-end quality of service has been the spotlight of industry research, since mobile communication entered the epoch of 4G-LTE, which is integrated with uniform packet core network architecture.3GPP purposed the PCC architecture in the Release 7, and it was redefined and refined in the following version. Although PCC architecture plays a crucial role in the business realization of end-to-end QoS security technology and refined constraint of network state by operators, the application effect remains to be validated, and technological problems still exist, furthermore, the construction plan and scheme should be made according to specific operators.The PCC architecture has many functions, so it’s very complicate to realize. if we deployed it directly, The consumption is large, and we may not discover hidden problems to optimal configuration, so in the simulation platform to test and verify the PCC architecture is a practical and urgent choice.Now, the network simulation software can’t meet this requirement, there is no simulation software to support the PCC architecture, so it’s imminent to build a network simulation environment to support the PCC architecture. Besides, under the framework of PCC, heterogeneous wireless network optimization focus QoS mapping scheme has been the spotlight of industry researchThe purpose of this paper is to design, develop and validate the LTE/EPS QoS simulation platform in the OPNET simulation software. In this paper, through the study the QoS architecture of EPS network and PCC architecture of 3GPP R8 standard, we make a secondary development and realize the LTE/EPS QoS simulated platform supporting PCC-QoS function in the OPNET simulation software. LTE/EPS QoS simulated platform is constructed to substantiate the application effect of PCC architecture and analyze the pros and cons of different QoS mapping methods in the LTE\WLAN heterogeneous interconnection network in accordance with specific simulated scene.In this article, we firstly describe LTE/EPS network architecture, QoS parameter system, related QoS control technique and LTE/EPS QoS simulation architecture in accordance with necessity, which supports QoS strategic control function in the PCC architecture. Then we make a secondary development on the relevant node models and thread models to realize the development of LTE/EPS QoS simulated platform.Furthermore, we test the PCC function on the platform and corroborate the correctness and availability, and we construct multiple data and nodes simulated scenes and test the correctness and robustness of LTE/EPS QoS simulation platform.In the end, three existent mapping methods regarding QoS classes between heterogeneous networks are analyzed, and simulations are made on this platform according to different principles in the example of LTE and WLAN network. The conclusion is compared with the existent one to validate the correctness and generality of LTE/EPS QoS simulation platform. Moreover, cons and pros of these three algorithms are presented by the analysis of simulated data, we also make suggestions about the deployment of QoS class mapping in the heterogeneous network from the dimension of network traffic’s end-to-end QoS security and overall network situation.
