IoT(The Internet of Things) through the devices such as sensing network and radio frequency identification makes the connection between objects and Internet to communicate with each other. The IoT equipped with sensors which collect the data such as sound and image is called Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network. It could also be called Visual IoT.The main purpose of this subject is to choose a better MAC protocol of WMSN for improvement or simplification in order to save some resources or energy for information transferring and image processing. In this paper, some jobs, such as introducing the basic information of IoT, introducing MAC protocols of Wireless Sensor Network across the board, giving emphasis to research the typical multi-channel MAC protocol DCA, using OPNET Modeler platform for DCA protocol simulation, are mainly made. We can examine the protocol by total throughput and data average delay. We can make the following conclusions by theoretical analysis and practical certification that DCA has some transceivers listen the control channel all the time so that it could effectively avoid the hidden problem under the multi-channel environment; DCA uses the independent control channel and the handshake mechanism on the control channel, and the total throughput will be affected by the network load increasing; There is a bottleneck problem of control channel in DCA. If the DCA protocol solves the problems above, it may be suitable for large-scale Visual IoT.They are meaningful for the study off Visual IoT that allow many pairs of nodes to communicate at the same time, increase the throughput of network and reduce the waiting time for the access to channels. Design a set of multi-channel MAC protocol which meets the above-mentioned conditions is the direction many researchers is working on.
