| Valve is widely used in different domains of national economy, which is the important control equipment of fluid transport pipeline. Valve products design usually follows a certain process and changeless design pattern, and the components have highly design relationship. So, valve products design is serialized and parameterized. Model Based Definition(MBD) is a new tendency of CAD development. MBD uses a solid model with3 D annotation to describe the entire design and manufacturing information of the product,and makes the 3D solid model to be the main data source of the manufacturing process.How to realize the rapid design based on MBD technology, improve the efficiency of product design and shorten the production cycle is an important research subject in digital technology application in the valve industry.In this thesis, with butterly valve for example, the design process and structure characteristics of typical valve products were studied. Firstly, the hierarchical structure of butterly valve was divided, and combine with the concept of structure design unit, the model of structure design unit was built. Secondly, on the basis of parametric design technology, feature modeling technology and associated design technology, the MBD parametric model of structure design unit was built to achieve parametric drive. Then the valve design process based on structure design unit was built to guide the whole product design process. Finally, the rapid design of valve products was realized by driving the MBD parametric model.Based on the above research work, a rapid design system based on MBD for valve products has been built with CATIA and Automation technique, an example was given to virefy that the system provides an efficient design tool for valve product design. |
