A Construction Of Data Warehouse System Based On IFW Model

Building data warehouse project is a systematic project. It is about corporate data assets items, and it will cost a long time on project construction, generally consists of several stages, construct in different periods. Since the data warehouse is to integrate different business systems data, and to form a consistent, centralized data environment. In its construction, the data modeling is undoubtedly the most important step. Data warehouse is profoundly affected by data model, and the quality of data model determines the success of a data warehouse project. From the perspective of project management, data warehouse project with the same general IT project management, will involve many aspects, but the organization management of the project is the most critical. With the data warehouse project and the future operational improvements, process management must be designed to ensure that project staff are clearly aware of their positions to carry out related tasks. Finally, it must focus on quality management of the project, only to ensure that the data quality of data warehouse in order to make the data warehouse project to be recognized, and then complete building data warehouse gradually.This paper begins with project management and data warehouse technology, and introduces IFW model techniques. Taking a data warehouse project of financial institution(Center A is called for short as followed) as an example, the design about data warehouse of center A was discussed detailly, and the management practices was designed to complete the data warehouse successfully and to bring out the effect of data warehouse.
