Challenge for Existence, the first true-man TV show introduced to China, was broadcast in Guangdong TV in June, 2000. From then on, there has been several storms of trueman TV show in China, and it has been one of main forms in TV shows now. Most of trueman TV show in China are transformed from that of other countries’, and expected to be transformed locally to minimize the influence of rejection in the process of transmission. Thus it makes a great difference to judge whether a trueman TV show is successful or not.In December 7, 2013, Zhongji Doushi, a trueman TV show which had been contracting great vision in America, was broadcast in Liaoning TV after a series of local transformation. However, it suffered a tribulation which had never occurred in America.The paper analyses the growing of trueman TV show to seek its background, and mainly on its soil for transplanting from 6 aspects: development of vision economy, restriction of cost, expansion of consumption culture, image attraction of beauty, survival of the fittest, and transformation between transmitter and audiences.It analyses the process of trueman TV show’s development in China by explaining its transformation. For example, it explaining the process of emphasizing challenge and exploring, emphasizing performance and talent show, emphasizing puzzle to pass, emphasizing marriage or applying for a job, and baring all kinds of forms, to analyze the changes of different stages.It discovers some problems in trueman TV show in China by analyzing its predicament. For example, it does a research on problems such as one way transmission between globalization and localization, performance of the human original desire, reduction of educational function on taste, imperfect operation of value chain, and ignorance of cultural discount.Then, it analyses its gain and loss of localization strategy with an example of Zhongji Doushi, a trueman TV show.The paper is composed with a novel case. As the first gymnastic trueman TV show for the audience, Zhongji Doushi started a form of gymnastic trueman TV show, which makes the research representative and general. It analyses the current predicament of trueman TV show by summarizing its background of growing and localization process, and its gain and loss on localization strategy by a research on Zhongji Doushi, which can be an important reference for the realization of other trueman TV show’s localization. It analyses and judges trueman TV show by combines the theory of mass culture, communication and integrated marketing, which can be a reference for the localized development of trueman TV show in China.
