Firstly,the current situation and problems in localization of China’s star outdoor reality shows are analyzed in this paper.At present,China’s star outdoor reality shows are characterized by learning from foreign modes,stars participation as the majority,higher and higher audience rating,multiplied media,more and more fierce competition and richer and richer cultural connotation.But there are also such problems as blindly imitation of the foreign outdoor reality show and lack of local innovation capacity,uncertain program orientation,weak professional team construction and insufficient extension of the industrial chain,excessive pursuit of commercial interests and lack of social responsibility of media,imperfect rules of the market and unsound supervision mechanism etc.Secondly,the reasons for the above problems are analyzed subsequently,mainly including: program makers’ lack of the awareness of "classics" and enough experience and research by rooting in the local life;the media’s overvalue on audience ratings and social concern,the blind pursuit of economic benefits,no recognition of its significant role in the social orientation of public opinions;the weakening of the enthusiasm in program pattern’s localized creation etc.due to lack of effective copyright protection and trading system.Finally,several strategies in the localization of China’s star outdoor reality shows are put forward.Shortly speaking,1.attention should be paid to promoting local culture,highlighting the mainstream ideology,and strengthening innovative expression of program concept,mode and narrative;2.relentless efforts should be made in cultivating of the creative program team;3.it should be emphasized to strengthen the brand construction and form the industrial effect,and develop auxiliary derivatives;4.it is emergent to enhance social responsibility,strengthen supervision mechanism,guide the correct public opinion,and improve the trading mechanism.Only in this way can we really promote the development of China’s star outdoor reality show.
