With further integration of the Internet of Things(IoT) and the Internet, digital service in home gradually increased, home gateway make a more and more important role, however the load is becoming more and more heavy. In the future, a variety of digital devices need to connect to the Internet in our home, such as personal computers, digital TVs, smart appliances, wearable medical devices. Home networks become complicated. Numbers of network applications coexist in our home, but unfortunately not in a friendly way. Thus the reliability and Quality of Service(Qo S) in the home networks have gradually been concern. Traditional routers and Internet of things which developing in recent years are currently only focus on the interconnection between heterogeneous networks and the Internet. The work that design and implementation for home network Qo S haven’t been done in most home gateway.Therefore, we design and implement a home network Qo S software which is based on OpenWrt system,then we have a improvement on our home network performence.Quality of Service(Qo S) technology is currently used on the IP backbone network and servers, WLAN Qo S technology is a research focus in recent years. And general home networks are still providing “best effort” service, it is not only no QoS guarantees on existing network applications, but also unable to face the challenges of variety of network applications that Io T and cloud computing brings. In this thesis, we analysis and exposition the characteristics of the future home networking and home gateway network applications, combined with Linux QoS technology, we finally make a design of Qo S for IoT Home Gateway, and take a test on the real effect. When we focus on the QoS research on home gateway, we complete the following work:1. Making an in-depth analysis and summary on IP network Qo S systems and technologies;2.Analysis the networking characteristics about home networking applications, make a summarize on the existing home network Qo S problems, and finally approach an Qo S scheme for home networks;3.We classified the home network applications based on HTB(hierarchical token bucket) queue.4.Combining the Linux kernel QoS implementation techniques, we complete the OpenWrt system porting. And we approach an Qo S solution for home networking, work out the implementation with QoS software design. At last, a practical test was taken on the uplink/downlink bandwidth, network latency and jitter in the actual network environment.
