With the wide use of electronic instrument, the measurement skills of instruments are facing with new challenge. The traditional measurement methods are by manually operation. With the increase of integration and intelligent of electronic instrument, the traditional methods are inefficient and error-prone. If Auto Testing Technical which is based on General Purpose Interface Bus is used, it can promote the efficiency and eliminate the man-made mistakes, furthermore, we can construct an ATS(automatic testing system) by computers and make complicated measurement works easer and clearer.GPIB(General Purpose Interface Bus) is a protocol used in ATS for device communication. According to this protocol, many devices for the same measurement can be connected as an ATS, in the control of computers. The measurement results of the ATS are obviously superior to traditional methods.This paper is about the design of instrument automatically testing system based on GPIB technique. By constructing an automatic calibrating system of oscilloscope, the article discusses design idea, solution and implementation of the automatic measurement system of instruments. This system makes the measurement of Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes programmable and standard, enhances the efficiency of tests. At the same time, it is proved that many experiences of the project can be as reference for other automatic measurement systems.
