| With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the kinds of radio access technology(RAT)and the selectivity of the users is increasing accordingly, including wireless personal area access network(WPAN), wireless local area network(WLAN), wireless metropolitan area network(WMAN), wireless wide area network(WWAN), satellite networks, Ad Hoc network, wireless sensor network(WSN), etc. The radio access technology is very different with each other, such as mobility, coverage, characteristics of services, speed of access, etc. As a result, they are fit for different suitable scene, which cannot be replaced by each other. These characteristics of different radio access networks make it necessary for the heterogeneous networks. In order to make the radio access networks work together, the effective radio resource management for the limited radio resources is to be needed. Radio resource management is the key technology to let different radio access networks work together in heterogeneous wireless network. Admission control plays an important role of radio resource management in heterogeneous wireless network. Therefore, the study of admission control algorithm in heterogeneous wireless network has been the hotspot. In the condition of meeting users’ needs and maximizing the utilization of network resources, it is necessary to design reasonable and effective admission control scheme for leading the users to access to different radio access networks. This paper improves an admission control algorithm based on species competition in heterogeneous wireless network. The algorithm can describe the relationship between different radio access networks and achieve the admission control in heterogeneous wireless network. The GLV model of species competition has been used in this paper. This paper improves the L-V species competition model. Through the GLV model,it can analyze the changes of the traffic in different radio access networks. The changes of traffic essentially meet the changes of the species’ population in the process of users choosing one network to access. In order to make the traffic of different radio access networks to reach a state of equilibrium, adjust the network parameters before when users access to the network. Although the probability of selection is different, it remains unchanged in state of stability and equilibrium. When the users access to the network, they use the access probability in a state of stability and equilibrium, so that the traffic of different networks can achieve a balanced state. Through computing the probability of the blocking rate in networks, achieve the admission control in heterogeneous wireless network. In the simulation, this paper simulates the adjustment process of the networks’ parameters. And the simulation results are analyzed. This paper also simulates changes of the blocking rate with increasing the number of users. The algorithm proposed in this paper is compared with other admission control algorithms. Through the simulation analysis, we can draw a conclusion that the algorithm based on species competition can achieve predetermined target and realize the admission control. Compared with other algorithms, the algorithm proposed in this paper reduces the blocking rate of networks very well and increases the users’ trust to networks under the condition that the maximum load did not exceed the traffic in a state of stability and equilibrium. Moreover, we can reduce the possibility that the user is blocked by adjusting the parameters of networks. |
