As a common psychological phenomenon, anxiety exists among the people from all walks. With the fact that time goes on and the circumstance changes, the content and types of people’s anxiety will alter and present obvious features of times. For traditional media, the whole industry environment has been encountering profound and severe challenges due to the internet tidal wave. Adding to the restriction relevant policies on evaluation and employment of professional titles, journalists, as the executor of news activities, will definitely have the different anxieties of different times.Based on the survey on the modification of journalism professional titles evaluation in Hubei province, this thesis takes journalists from representative traditional media in Hubei province as its study objects. Through the analysis of the interview and questionnaires of respondents in the survey, the thesis firstly classifies and describes the three main anxieties which journalists have at the present stage, that is, the anxiety for existence, the anxiety for development and the anxiety for identity. And those main anxieties also respectively contain different kinds of sub-anxieties. For instance, the anxiety for existence reflects in the anxiety for the working treatment and media survival. The anxiety for news awards, the anxiety for academic publication, the anxiety for English and Computer tests and the anxiety for exceptional promotion of professional titles belong to anxiety for development. The anxiety for identity is unique for the newsmen who are working for new platforms in traditional media and it includes the anxiety for absence of identity and evaluation. Secondly, the thesis dissects the reasons why those anxieties appear from three perspectives including macro media environment, mechanism and policies on evaluation and employment of professional titles, and internal situation of media. On account of those reasons, the thesis finally puts forward some specific measures including the perfection of relevant mechanism and policies on evaluation and employment of professional titles, establishment of media’s internal evaluation system, and improvement of journalists’ abilities, to relieve the relevant anxieties. The relevant study indicates that the existence of anxiety is not a bad thing. As long as the overanxiety is avoided, moderate anxiety is even good for motivating people’s potential. This study also holds the point that the improvement of external factors like relevant mechanism and policies could to some extend relieve journalists’anxieties of times. Nevertheless, in the context of enormous change of media environment, what is more important for journalists of traditional media is to adjust attitude and confront the deficiencies themselves to eliminate their anxieties for development and survival. Only by promoting their own ability can they calmly face the new challenges from the new time.
