With the rapid development of radio and television broadcasting, cable televisionnetworks increasing size of the database system and drawings rely on users to managenetwork resources and the traditional model, resulting in a network resource isunknown, statistics chaos, can not meet the current and future application developmentneeds. Network resource management system as an important part of networkoperations support system developed quickly, geographic information systems(Geographic Information System, GIS) technology is quite mature, combined with GIStechnology to build a cable network resource management system, has become anecessity trend.This paper studies the design of "GIS-based cable television network resourcemanagement system" to assist the design and project management-oriented network, toachieve network fault analysis, user information, statistics, network resourcemanagement, equipment management and other functions. Network management andengineering and technical personnel can use this software platform, standardizednetwork design, network management, intelligent, and combined with existing userinformation management, network monitoring system to meet the management andengineering and technical personnel at all levels of the network information demand.The GIS system designed in this paper can achieve the objectives are:(1) formedthe unified management of GIS related resources data, uses the advanced GIStechnology, the establishment of resource information database, the cybersource, multiple geographic variables and a large number of data is merged intoa unified system, unified management of all types of resources;(2) to improve thebusiness analysis of scheduling capabilities, allowing the system to have acomprehensive analysis and processing of spatial data, the statistical analysisof resource planning data and spatial data;(3) to reduce the cost and improvethe utilization rate of resources, allocation of resources in different regions have adefinite object in view, improve the utilization rate of cyber source can report to thefault fault repair time, improve the stability of the network, reduce the service cost.The results show that the system test run: There is a strong practical GIS-basedcable television network resource management system that can provide the basis forradio and television network resource allocation for signal transmission department, network planning, engineering construction sector management, materials management,engineering inspection departments to provide a reliable and efficient network resourceattribute information, and can update network resource information through businessprocesses to achieve a scientific and standardized management projects, effectivelyreduce network operating costs.
