In recent years, Chinese hosiery products demand is presenting the trend with personalized,diversified and high-class. This trend presented a higher demand for hosiery production facilitiesin functionality and performance. So, Automatic jacquard hosiery machine becomes themainstream of high-end production equipment. The control system, as the core component ofautomatic jacquard hosiery machine, its performance directly determines the quality andproductivity of socks. Currently, the high-end control technology of jacquard hosiery machine ismainly dominated by Italy, South Korea, Germany and other countries’ enterprises. There arestill large gaps in real-time, expansibility and stability in our domestic hosiery machine controlsystem compared with foreign advanced technology. This paper is to study the jacquard hosierymachine control system based on the Cortex-M4high-performance processor, it uses hierarchicalstructure and its control functions are integrated in a single chip. This kind of design not onlyimproves system’s real-time, expansibility and stability, but also reduces costs effectively. It hasbroad application prospects.Based on single cylinder jacquard hosiery machine’s mechanical structure and knittingtechnology, analyzed and summarized its control requirements, This paper propose a hierarchicalstructure design of the hosiery machine control system based on the Cortex-M4high-performance processor and adopts hierarchical modular design, illustrates the specificdesign method and process of the control system from the human-computer interaction layer, thereal-time control layer and the driver execution layer respectively.Among which the human-computer interaction layer specifically illustrates the principlesand algorithms of the touch acquisition, the high-speed cache technology based on chip SDRAM,the document literacy transmission module, the LVDS transmission technology and thehuman-computer interface based on the graphical interface library emWin; the real-time controllayer focuses on the multibus distributed control applications which mainly includes CAN,RS485and parallel bus as well as the conversion and extraction of the needle selection data onpattern resolution; the driver execution layer presents the design of each driver circuit module,and discusses the corresponding control methods and optimization algorithms.Finally, through the function and performance testing of the human-computer interaction layer based on a single-chip, the multi-bus real-time control layer and the driver execution layerverifies the timeliness and reliability of the design of the system.The debugging results show that this jacquard hosiery machine control system is with highreal-time performance, its architecture has good scalability, and whole operation is stable andreliable, can satisfy the control demand of high-class hosiery production facilities, improves theefficiency of production, with good market economic benefits.
