With the progress of economy these years, the market of auto industry gradually increases,traffic congestion and safety and other issues come one after another. Aiming at these problems, theconcept intelligent transportation system emerges. The GPS vehicle terminal system, as animportant part of intelligent transportation system, has attracted more and more attention, andgradually become a new research direction of traffic management system.The intelligent vehicle terminal system is a combination of the CAN bus technology,application for vehicle monitoring system composed of GP RS and GPS positioning module. TheGPS module and the CAN bus in the system collect satellite positioning data and the running stateinformation and vehicles, these data is analyzed and packaged, using GPRS module encapsulatesthe data to send to the server monitoring center so as to realize the position monitoring, monitoringthe running state of the vehicle and the vehicle dispatching management and other functions.The vehicle terminal system is rely on the gradual maturity of the GPRS technology and theGPS global positioning technology, combined with the application of embedded technology toachieve. The design scheme is based on the market and the characteristics of the system. This paperuses a strong computing power LPC1765processor and real-time high of μC/OS-Ⅱ embeddedoperating system. Firstly, this paper introduces the significance of research and development statusat home and abroad, and then analyses a concrete realization of GPS vehicle terminal function ofmarket demand. Based on functional requirements analysis, this paper completes the overall designof the system and selects key modules. On this basis, it elaborated in detail the hardware andsoftware designing of GPS positioning module, GPRS communication module, CAN bustransceiver module, auxiliary function modules and debugging work of each module. Finally, thepaper summarizes the work carried out, and gives outlook areas for improvement of the system.
