“Research on the genome and heredity effects of space radiation”(Radiation GeneBox for short) aims at recording the space particle flux in the GRB and providinginformation for the influence of micro gravity on radiation response during spaceflight and for ground verification tests. Radiation Detector is the most important partof the RGB, it should meet with the demands of various particles detection and wideenergy detection range. Besides, the RGB is placed in the recoverable capsule alongwith others devices that the space resource is limited. So the RGB should meet withthe requirements of miniaturization and low power consumption as well.Based on all the design requirements (including the abovementioned), the systemdesign of the Radiation Detector was accomplished in this paper, which can not onlyrealize the function of particle detection but also achieve a high level of energyresolution.The current space particle detection situation in China and abroad is introduced inthe first chapter, and the Radiation Detector onboard SJ-10Satellite is introducedbriefly as well. In the second chapter, the function and performance requirements ofthe mission are analyzed and the detector part of the Radiation Detector are described.The detector preliminary readout electronics and high speed data acquisition&processing electronics are presented in chapter three. While the design of embeddedsoftware base on FPGA is described in chapter four. In the fifth chapter, the ground testsystem made up of the ground test communication circuitry and the Graphic UserInterface on PC for the Radiation Detector is introduced. In the sixth chapter, someground verification tests such as the submodule’s implementation test, the systemdetecting efficiency test and the system performance test etc. are introduced. Thesummary and outlook of this work are presented in the end.
