At present,with the rapid development of the optical communication industry,the need for optical devices is also increasing.the optical modules is an important component of the optical devices.The production of the optical modules is mainly in manual form.It not only increases the operation cost of the enterprises,but also causes the low yield and poor product consistency.Hense,in order to make the best profit of production and to improve competitiveness,the first choice is to modify the production mode to automation.The main processes of the production of optical modules are aligement and immobilization.The aligement process contains two parts,which are launch coupling and receive coupling.Therefore,it is important to develop a stable and efficient automatic coupling equipment to improve the efficiency of coupling. This paper has developed a automatic receive coupling system according to the requirements of the production process in optical module production.This paper constructed a complete set of open system that is used for receive coupling.Its core is galil motion controller and has a two-level coupling system,which contains two pahses of sketchy alignment and precise alignment based on the characteristics.The system uses the PCI bus to struct a communication between GALIL motion controller,PICM-3900 S module and servo ampilifier.At last it uses the pneumatic dispensing mode to immobilization.One of the key issues to the coupling epuipments is aligement algorithm.The performance of the algorithm determins the equipment’s efficiency and reliability.The control system has a two-level coupling system.It uses the spiral scanning algorithm for the sketchy alignment and the hill climbing metaphor for the precise alignment.This paper modified the algorithm according to the characteristics of the receiving coupling,so that it could fit better.The software of this control system is developed in c# programming language in Visual Studio 2008.It is connected to the motion card by using api functions that suits the card.This control system contains four modules which are main control module,system configuration module,monitor module and document management module.These modules provide the functions that is used for debugging and autorun.
