| Camera Link digital cameras have become the hotspot of machine vision. Compared to the Gige, USB and IEEE 1394 digital Cameras, Camera Link digital cameras have high transmission speed, high resolution, strong stability, flexible communication protocol. Currently Camera Link digital cameras display images by image capture card with PCI or PCI-e interface. Because image capture card must be used the computer for image processing, it results in defects of system such as large size and poor flexibility. Therefore, a real-time and miniaturized system based on the Camera Link digital camera has the large market needs and is applied to the demanding field of space and weight such as military reconnaissance, optical remote sensing and early warning of spacecraft.According to the present situation of image acquisition system of Camera Link digital cameras and the specific requirements of a group’s project, the subject uses the Camera Link digital camera as the image capture device and designs a real-time and miniaturized system. Firstly, The system has adopted two kinds of CCD cameras.One is POM-080MCL camera for military,the other is STC-CLC83A camera for industry.It puts forward a FPGA chip of Cyclone III as the core component of the system. Secondly the system as a whole uses modular design concept and selects specific core chip for each module including image capture module, FPGA processing module, the image cache module, and image display module.Thirdly in terms of the hardware, design circuit schematics of the system and PCB board, then test and improve the system for increasing the reliability and usefulness. In terms of the software, use Quartus II 11.0 software to write a series of procedures for capturing LVDS signal, processing data, caching in a SDRAM chip and generating the XGA signal. Gradually verify hardware capabilities.In the case of combining hardware with software, the initial system uses POM-080MCL camera for military as the image capture device to achieve real-time image of XVGA.The monochrome images are clear but a little flashing. Then improve the hardware and software. The improved system uses STC-CLC83A camera for industry as the image capture device to achieve real-time image of XGA.The color images are clear but no flashing.The images can switch from color to monochrome via a DIP switch. The real-time and miniaturized system based on the Camera Link digital camera has complied with the requirements of the group’s project and stable after testing in the field operation. This system with some innovative and practical is an alternative to traditional Camera Link image display system, while providing the useful value as a reference for the follow-up study of real-time system with digital cameras. |
