The research and application of pulsed power technology become more and more popular in modern society, which has exceeded the limit of nuclear weapon radiation effect field and become the key technology of high power physics and nuclear fusion physics. Also, it plays an increasingly significant role in high-tech industries.Nuclear fusion energy, produced by the nuclear fusion, is a new type of clean energy. As an important part of laser driver in the whole inertial confinement fusion(ICF) device, the nuclear fusion energy with reliability, stability, power density and maintainability of the energy module directly affect the operation of laser driver. With the increasing capacity of energy module in energy system, higher requirement is brought forward, which is also the basement of the research in this paper.New type of high power energy module is introduced in this paper. To build up the hardware of the energy module, modular design and circuit simulation are adopted. Through the study of main discharge circuit and pre-ionization circuit, the source of electromagnetic interference in circuit and structure design, a method is put forward to improving the reliability and stability of energy module. During the process of designing the charger, the series-resonant zero current switch(ZCS) is applied, thus constant charging current of charging unit and the strong ability to resist load short circuit are achieved, as well as the improvement of accuracy of charging voltage. The result of analyzing the experiment data shows that the new type of high power energy module could provide the excitation pulse which satisfy the energy, power and waveform that the load xenon lamp needs. The aim of miniaturization, modularization and economization of the high power energy module are fulfilled and the stability and the resistance of electromagnetic interference are fully verified.The software controlling the high power energy module system is written in this paper with the characteristics of comprehensive functions, flexible structure, great extendibility, maintainability and human-computer interaction ability. By analyzing and designing the software, the architecture, control relation, data definition and database design are detailed. The system controlling process is cleared and the relationship of the software-controlled interface is detailed, which provides basis of software development. At the same time, the software aiming at gas-setting and monitoring the gas pressure is optimized to monitor and control the gas controlling part of the energy module automatically in order to improve the reliability, stability and safety of the energy module’s daily operation.
