High-power microwave directional coupler plays a key role in the high-power microwave measurement system, at present, high-power microwave directional coupler is moving to towards high power capacity, miniaturization.To enhance power capacity, directional coupler is filled with SF6 in the internal;In order to achieve the miniaturization of directional coupler, we look for a new coupling structure instead of round hole, and design of a wide band, weak coupling, high directivity and high power capacity, miniaturization directional coupler.The main research content is as follows:1. According to the project requirement, we design a kind of high directivity, weak coupling, wide-band secondary directional coupler at L-band, and measure the practical sample.2. We research the power capacity of high power microwave directional coupler, and put forward the design scheme of power capacity, which is using waveguide window to make directional coupler internal form a sealed cavity, and then the directional coupler internal filling inert gas such as SF6, because of the SF6 electric strength is higher, so as to improve the breakdown strength of directional coupler internal gas medium, thus improving the power capacity of directional coupler.3. We designed a standing wave waveguide window, and a reasonable choice of dielectric slice materials.Simulation on the CST internal filling SF6, and the waveguide directional coupler window after every technical index of the simulation results are analyzed.Aims to ensure that other technical indicators are not worse case to increase the power capacity of devices.4. We research and analysis of new type coupling structure to look for a new coupling structure. The single span and porous elliptic hole coupling structure is studied respectively, and by using the CST simulation, the arrangement of multiple coupling structure with the method of coupling curve trend reverse destructive to figure out a best coupling structure arrangement.we summed up the design process of porous directional coupler and designed respectively four and six directional coupler, and analyzed the simulation results.5. We compared the elliptic hole directional coupler with the traditional rectangular waveguide directional coupler, and simulate the results of contrast and comparison of physical size, you can see that in coupling, directivity, and so on the various technical indicators meet the requirements, under the condition of using elliptical hole coupling structure design of six hole directional coupler achieved the purpose of miniaturization.
