The network is one of the necessary tools for work, study and life. Due to the limitations of traditional wired networks, wireless technology is gradually replace the traditional way of network connection. From mobile phones to laptop computers, digital cameras, PDA, game controller and handheld GPS devices, etc., are beginning to adopt wireless technology. Especially in recent years, smart phones and tablet computers become popular, most people start using wireless technology. In the home, office or some public places, we access to the wlan through the wireless technology for reading news, querying weather, searching something, etc. Using GPS guide the route, wearing Bluetooth headset for calling, and paying with mobile phones which embedded NFC module, all suggests that the wireless technology has penetrated into our lives.Smart phones and other wireless equipment which embdded wireless modules output exponentially increase year by year, people has higher requirement to wireless devices, need higher rate of transmission and the stability of the transmission performance, so the testing of wireless module and equipment will be more and more important. Most users may don’t understand the complexity and precision of their used mobiles and equipment, and the designers and manufacturers are very clear the wireless products which they design and produce need to meet very strict protocol specification, short of the product manufacturing period and low cost requirements.At first, the designer test manually for the wireless mudule most time. Calibrate util all the performance of chipset compliance with specification, all the products were copied with the calibrated chipset then sampling for manual test, the production model will lead to a lot of unqualified products output, and bring great damage to the interests for both consumers and production factory agent, the consumers are easy to buy the unqualified products with a wireless module, and have poor user experience for often be disconnected when using. Meanwhile, there is negative influence in the product quality and credibility for vendors.Compared to original manual testing or similar automation software, the research mainly has the following characteristics:(1) Automation test replace the traditional manual testing. The automation software which run completely according to the predefined control process replace the traditional manual testing, accelerate the test efficiency and reduces the complexity of the test. The new auto test software covers all wireless RF test specification, reflects the performance of device under test intuitively, meet the demand of high performance and low cost for production.(2) Make complicated wireless RF test more easy and convenient. The auto test software has a graphical tool to generate a test script, set test process and test parameters. If you are not an expert in the wireless technology area, the wireless products can also be tested quickly and convenient. It also provides a friendly human-computer interaction interface, simplifies the test script, provide intuitive test results.(3) A more general automation test platform. It designed for covering all test requirements of the wireless technology to meet the different types of different wireless modules compared to existing software which only support specific RF tschnology. Test platform support WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and so on, do not need to repeat development and deploy software, reduce all the troubles as developing and debugging, save the test time for the platform development and verification.(4) New platform is easier to extend compare to existed software. Technologies are in the unceasing innovation, new wireless technologies will need to be added into test platform, such as the latest 802.11 ac technology, only put a dynamic link library into the test platform to support 802.11 ac technology without modifying source code. Test platform does not need to redeploy, also won’t affect the other wireless technology test. Meanwhile, a dynamic link library need put into test platform to support the new wireless products. Thus it’s easy to extend the new wireless testing technology and the new wireless products for the auto test paltform.(5) More efficient automated test platform. The study found that the performance is not good for most of the existing wireless RF test automation which can not make full use of the instrument. The price of the test instrument is expensive. How to make the hardware resources full-time used is particularly important. We need good performance for saving human resources, reducing the test cost, and make the period short for products to market. |
