With the expansion of modern manufacturing and rapid design and the rapid development of network information technology, many enterprises have developed their own mechanical parts and resources library on Web. Many users of these mechanical parts and resources libraries put forward more accurate, more complete requirements on retrieval performance. Semantic retrieval has become the frontier subject of study on the retrieval of current information science. This article studies semantic retrieval model of mechanical parts and resources library that our team had developed based on ontology and its implementation with the support of major science and technology projects in the Xinjiang autonomous regions. Some achievement we have acquired as follows:(1) On the basis of ontology theory, aiming at the limitations of general ontology building method, this paper puts forward a new building method what is fit for mechanical parts and resources library. At the same time this article establishes its descriptive model and realizes the modeling of ontology. On the basis of the existing storage schema of ontology, this paper designs a new storage schema of the ontology of mechanical parts and resources library to improve the efficiency of the storage.(2) According to the traditional the algorithm model of semantic similarity, thi paper comes up with a comprehensive and weighted calculation model of semantic similarity. This paper introduces the language of querying ontology at the same time, and decides to adopt the SPARQL language to query the ontology. And then this paper defines the refinement algorithm of querying and describes the refinement algorithm of query and algorithm of query to improve the efficiency of the semantic extension of the query. Finally this article puts forward the logical procedures of querying ontology and the construction of SQL statement in the process of index.(3) The paper designs three-tier architecture of semantic retrieval of mechanical parts and resources library based on ontology repository, namely the presentation layer, the logic layer and the data layer. The paper gives the overall process of the implementation of semantic retrieval model of mechanical parts and resources library based on ontology repository. The semantic retrieval model has been applied in the prototype system of the project group. Finally, this paper tests the performance of the semantic retrieval model through different examples of query, and compares with retrieval results of the semantic retrieval model and the traditional retrieval way, The paper verifies that the semantic retrieval model does improve the precision ration and recall ration.
