In recent years, the Chinese telecommunication industry is developing rapidly, the transmission network has been rapid development, new technologycontinue to appear.The emergence ofoptical transport network(OTN), packet transport network(PTN) technology. OTN and PTN are widely used, but the technology is still in constant development, in the network mode of OTN and PTN present, generally use the 10 GE PTN and GE PTN equipment for networking, most does not involve 40GE/100 GE PTN equipment, to a certain extent, it desn’tmeet the needs of local transmission network.This paper studies the characteristics and principle and the new progress of OTN and PTN technology principle.In the local transmission network, the network model of OTN and PTN is studied. In this paper, the 40GE/100 GE PTN and packet OTN(packet Packet enhanced OTN) device is use forthe local transmission network, enhance network capacity of PTN network, the expansion of the network device type.In the years 2010-2011, Longyan Unicom facingthepressure of two net of fusion and construction of3 G network, are being stepped upexpansionconstructionnetwork. With the development of wireless and data services, the existing local transmission network structure and capacity, security issues have become increasingly prominent. The need for optimization and capacity expansion of network construction, to meet the needs of various business security and efficient operation.Through the analysis of the current status and existing problems of thenetwork,The author predict the transmission circuit needs of various business.Propose upgrade planning scheme using OTN combined with PTN network.The core convergence layer,The new 80*10G OTN network, solve the problem of small network capacity. The convergence layer, the access layer, the new 10 GE GE PTN network,Solution of the new 3G wireless base station backhaulbusiness and large customer accessbusiness demand.This paper can provide reference for operators 40GE/100 GE PTN and packet OTN based on local transmission network planning and design.
