| With the continuous development of communication technology, communication confrontation becomes more and more fierce, and traditional HF radio and VHF radio are not able to meet the demand of the future warfare. Individual soldier communication system is developping toward digitalization, integration and broadband. Future individual soldier communication system will possess both Ad-Hoc networking and broadband data transmission ability to accomplish multiple tasks, such as audio transmission, video transmission, and battlefield situation awareness, so as to greatly improve the communication efficiency and battlefield survivability.This theis borrowed the idea of software defined radio, aiming to develop a compatible and flexible multimode individual soldier communication system. Users can conveniently adjust its working mode and parameters without chaging any hardware. The whole system is made up of handheld data terminal, RF module, shouldered battery pack, helmet mounted camera and head mounted microphone. The system has the ability of broadband data transmission and battlefield situation awareness. The main work of this thesis is as follows:1. Studied the classical adaptive modulation schemes in depth, and on this basis, designed a suitable adaptive modulation scheme for individual soldier communication system.2. Designed the handheld data terminal based on user experience and system functional requirements. Main jobs include requirements analysis, components selection, function module design, PCB layout design, board-making, welding and debugging. then finally developed the handheld data terminal prototype.3. Studied the commonly used anolog and digital modulation technologies in depth, and on this basis, conducted the schematic and PCB design, and then developped a signal modulation module with excellent performance. We also programmed a upper computer software for the signal modulation module to achieve its full digital control.4. Analyzed and studied the commonly used multiple access technologies, then designed hardware circuits to generate corresponding networking waveforms. By comparing the performance of various networking waveforms, this thesis proposed several networking schemes which are suitable for individual soldier communication system.5. Considering usage scenarios, and on the basis of the designed networking scheme, realized the essential user functions on handheld data terminal. User functions include user authentication and management, emergency command broadcast, text transmission, voice call, video transmission, file transceiver, GPS positioning, location information topologically display, etc. |
