China is currently in a period of rapid development, both political and economic aspects of remarkable achievements, it reveals the rise of this ancient country and international status.In recent years, foreign media give more attentions to China’s growing. No matter number of reports, the length, content or coverage areas are expanding. For the international community, these reports become the main way to understand China. For the foreign community, particularly foreign people, because of the limited access to know Chinese society, so there is a strong dependence on the national mass media. For the mass media coverage has become an important means for the audience to understand Chinese society, the way to select and report news events determine the attitude of people for events, ideas, and directly affect their behavior and decision-making basis of this information. And also affect the audience subtle cognitive image of China.Therefore, the analysis and interpretation of foreign media coverage of China is extremely important. Understand its knowing about China and its way to build China helps improving our external communication strategy and enhance our international competitiveness, and establish a positive international image.This paper selects the nation’s largest circulation of USA Today as the object of study.The main reason of choosing USA Today for the study is the breadth of its audience-oriented.Its readership is mainly focused on ordinary Americans. Compared to the Washington Post,USA Today is more "down to earth. " Its report for China’s decision and build the American people for the Chinese the impression that their views and attitudes to what happened Chinese social events but also indirectly led the American folk for China-related events in shaping public opinion, for the USA Today analysis of the most vulnerable sketched out close to the US general public perceived the image of China.In this The paper uses text analysis methods to study USA Today’s all China-related reports which is from October 1,2012 to October 12015. Through its statistics and text analysis, konwing the characteristics of USA Today reports about China for three years, and trying to describe its China’s national image that USA Today shaped. On this basis,the paper is trying to put forward some thought to enhance our media’s strength and make sure that there is China’s voice on international press. And let foreign audience learn about the real China and create a real and health international image of China.
