After decades of change and development,the servo-control system has been used widely in a variety of occasionsfor its excellent performance, such as locating of military radar and artillery, movement of industrial robot arm, air conditioner, robot, copier, camera,etc. At the same time, embedded technology is also developing rapidly, both in the field of communications, scientific research, aerospace, medical equipment, etc or consumer electricequipment in daily life,embedded technology can be seen. In this design, embedded technology will be applied to the servo-control system, the embedded system as a upper control unit of servo system, it overcomes the shortcomings of the number of other upper control unit of servo motor, such as PLC, SCM, and it has a strong practicality.In this paper, we have completed the design of system hardware and software respectively.In terms of hardware, we have selected Samsung S3C2440 as the CPU of upper control unit, we have completed the design of peripheral circuit based on S3C2440 and the design of interface circuit for upper control unit and servo driver. In terms of software, we have completed the configuration of development environment for embedded system, wehave configured Samba server for file sharing and NFS server for mounting the root file system; We have installed the tool that being used to cross-compile the program; We have compiled and transplanted Bootloader; The design used the Linux as a operating system, so we have compiled and transplanted the Linux operating system, the system can run stably on the experimental platform; We created a root file system by Busybox, in order for us to debug the program, the root file system is mounted via NFS server; On this basis, in order to make application can access hardware devices and control them, we have developed drivers for hardware devicesfurther, such as PWM driver, etc;The system uses touch screen to achieve human-computer interaction, so we have designed user interface of Mini GUI, and we have developed application based on MiniGUI.After testing, the system can operate normally, it can complete the basic control of the servo motor, such as speed control, position control, it meet the design requirements basically, it has some practical value. If we can improve function and performance of this system and enhance its stability, reliability and control accuracy, it can be used to the field of industrial control.
